Curriculum Specialist | Instructional Coach | Equity Advocate | National Presenter

With over 20 years of experience in education, I specialize in culturally responsive pedagogy, curriculum design, and adult learning rooted in Indigenous Ways of Knowing. I am an Indigenous Education Curriculum and Achievement Instructional Coach, national presenter, and consultant with a passion for transforming learning spaces into inclusive, culturally sustaining environments that honor Native voices, stories, and systems of knowledge.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked to ensure Indigenous students and communities are not just included in education—but centered. I have led district-wide professional development, coached hundreds of teachers in implementing Indian Education for All (IEFA), and developed instructional strategies grounded in the Seven Essential Understandings Regarding Montana Indians. My work helps educators move beyond performative inclusion toward meaningful, community-connected education that reflects the identities of all students.

I’ve designed culturally relevant curricula in Native American Studies, Outdoor Education, and land-based learning, integrating themes like language revitalization, tribal governance, and Indigenous science. I developed and published a self-efficacy scale to help educators increase confidence in culturally sustaining science instruction. My training draws on the theories of Dr. James Banks and centers on equity, identity, and place-based learning in all that I do.

My professional reach extends far beyond the classroom. I’ve partnered with the Montana Office of Public Instruction to facilitate IEFA courses statewide, served as a site coordinator during the remote learning transition—supporting 800+ students and 35 educators—and led initiatives in student mentoring, credit recovery, and cultural integration. I also support over 2,200 Indigenous learners across urban and reservation communities through programming, advising, and culturally responsive support systems. I’m a certified SIOP trainer and a heritage language advocate, and currently learning Spanish to enhance multilingual communication and connection.

My journey is also personal. As a proud Ojibwe woman and member of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians, I carry both lived experience and professional expertise into every space I enter. I have deep roots in Montana, where I’ve dedicated my life to uplifting Indigenous education. And now, as my family transitions to the Seattle area—with my husband’s new role in Federal Way and my sister working remotely for the Montana Office of Indian Education—I’m eager to expand my work alongside new communities and tribal nations.

Whether supporting school districts, tribal communities, higher education institutions, or individual educators, I bring a student-centered, justice-driven approach to every project. My work is grounded in the belief that when students see themselves reflected in their education, they thrive academically, emotionally, culturally, and spiritually.

Let’s work together to reimagine education—where all students feel seen, and Indigenous knowledge leads the way.
